Establishment of Jobs and Skills Australia
Nov 16, 2022Legislation to establish a new agency Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) and to abolish the National Skills Commission, passed both houses of Parliament on 27 October.
The JSA will have a broader remit than its predecessor and will focus on workforce planning in partnership with state and territory governments, unions, industry and education providers.
Universities Australia welcomed amendments to the Bill to include specific mention of universities in the scope of the agencies’ consultation and engagement activities.
